Greg Mcmurdo passed away suddenly on Sunday the 30th of April 2017 aged 38. Greg played with the band for around 2 years after moving to Perth from Geraldton, originally playing cornet but later moving to tuba.

Maureen Bottomley, Honorary CBB Member & Wife of Life Member & CBB Drummer Geoff Bottomley sadly passed away in September 2015

Aubrey "Art" Wheeler Passed Away November 2007

Art was the drummer/percussionist with the band for many years.

Ian McCutcheon Passed Away In 2006 After Many Years Loyal Service To The Band.

This is Ben Shao, he played drums in The Challenge Brass Band until he passed away aged 18 in 1995. 

The band has an Award in Ben's Name given out each year called

The Ben Shao Endeavor Award.

The band has not had any photos of Ben until 2012.

Ede Tuck Passed Away Feb 1995. 

A Huge loss for the band & will always be etched in the bands history. 

Ede was a founding member of the band in 1987 & Secretary for many years, sending out weekly newsletters, organizing our uniforms and creating our Band Jackets, Ede also created our stand Banners that were in use for in excess of 15 years

The Ede Tuck Memorial Award Was Created In Ede's Honor.

Ray Larner Passed Away July 1991

Ray Larner was a founding member of the band in 1987 and long time friend of Peter Tuck assisted in finding Instruments and Supplying Music in order to start the band.

Ray's wife Joan Larner is still the Patron of the band.
The Ray Larner Memorial Award Was Created In Ray's Honor.
